Natural Gas
Our current investigation involves the unconventional extraction of natural gas by way of hydraulic fracturing. We’ve focussed on how natural gas pollution is being handled by the state of Pennsylvania, and the stories of individual community members directly impacted by the development for this resource. You can read more about this by visiting our section “Fracking.”
We all consume energy. But we rarely think about where our energy comes from. With the flick of a switch or a payment at the pump, many of us comsume energy in all directions of our life. Our investigation into natural gas development is a way of gaining a better understanding about the cost to produce fossil fuel energy.
Public Herald is also producing “Triple Divide” — its debut documentary film. Triple Divide is the story of Public Herald’s investigations into public health & safety, regulation, human rights, and environmental impacts due to shale gas extraction in one of Pennsylvania’s most sensitive regions. Learn about Triple Divide:
No matter the energy source, whether oil, gas, hydro, wind, or solar, improper development can harm public health, and the health of the environment.

We are currently engaged in applying for funds to continue with two major investigations: natural gas development in Pennsylvania and the human health impacts of cell phone radiation. In addition to our work with Triple Divide, we are in the process of producing educational programs for information on fracking and Permaculture. Read more about our work in Permaculture by visiting www.pribanicfarms.org.
Help support our work. Continue ongoing investigations and start new ones by making a one-time donation, or becoming a lifetime member of Public Herald.
